Kay-Kay's Suncatcher Dress
Kay-Kay's Suncatcher Dress
When my niece Kayla was little we spent a lot of time together. One of the things that "Kay-Kay" and I loved to do was to go to the craft store and get the little kits to make suncatchers. You know the ones with the little plastic pellets that you bake in the oven? We made a lot of these. It was also during that time that I was working at a department store and my love for little girls' dresses began. I'm especially fond of sundresses. There's something about the simplicity of them that stirs my heart.
Kay-Kay's Suncatcher dress is inspired by those memories. This dress is a simple, straightforward, tie shoulder sundress with a couple of fun skirt options. Make the skirt with just the circle skirt, just the swoop skirt or both for a more dramatic look. Add ruffles or hem it as it is. Options are given for long ties or shorter ties as well. It's a perfect dress for summer and can be dressed up or down depending on the fabric and the options that you choose. It's a great canvas for adding your own embellishments such as lace, applique or embroidery.
